The AminoPen is a precision dosing instrument designed for laboratory and research use. It pairs a machined dial with a standard 3 ml borosilicate glass cartridge so researchers can set and dispense in repeatable, unit-based increments. The AminoPen is hardware only: it is supplied empty, and the user provides any material they wish to load into the glass cartridge. It is intended strictly for research use and is not a medical device.

Both pens share the same click-stop dial, the same unit scale, and the same standard 3 ml borosilicate glass cartridge, so they behave identically in use. The difference is the build and how you keep them running.

The AminoPen Pro has an aluminum body built to keep for years. You swap in a new glass cartridge whenever the current one runs out, indefinitely, and it ships with a hardshell case.

The AminoPen Go has a lighter polymer body. It loads one glass cartridge and you dial and dispense from it until it is empty, then you replace the pen. No case included.

The AminoPen loads a standard 3 ml borosilicate glass cartridge. We sell these as the AminoPen 3 ml Glass Cartridges in 10-packs, with a printed unit scale so you can read the level directly through the glass. Because the format is a standard 3 ml cartridge, the system is built around a widely recognized cartridge size rather than a proprietary lock-in.

Yes. The 3 ml glass cartridges are refillable, and the entire AminoPen Pro system is designed around reuse. The intent is simple: own the pen once, refill the glass, and don’t throw away a working instrument. This is the core of how the AminoPen is built and why we lead with the Pro for ongoing research work.

The dial advances in tactile click-stops, so each increment is felt as well as seen and the dial holds its set position rather than drifting. It sets up to 60 units at a time, and a full 3 ml cartridge carries roughly 250 units. Combined with the printed scale on the glass cartridge, the click-stop dial is what makes the AminoPen a precision instrument rather than an approximate one.

Yes. Every order ships in a plain, unmarked box with no branding or product description visible on the outside. We ship from within the United States, with most orders dispatched in 24–72 hours. Orders over $85 ship free. See our Shipping & Returns page for full details.

Unopened, unused items in their original, sealed packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery, and defective items are handled directly by our team regardless of that window. Where pen needles are offered, they are subject to shipping restrictions that vary by state, and some destinations cannot receive them. These restrictions apply only to needle items, not to the pens or glass cartridges.
